Abstract:

The monograph concerns research on individual fields of intellectual property law in the Kingdom of Poland (1815-1918), that is copyright, inventive law, combating unfair competition and protection of the business name. In addition, the issues related to the science and legal journalism in the field of intellectual property in the Kingdom of Poland are presented in the work. The author proves that despite unfavorable historical conditions (dependence on the Russian Empire and its outdated legislation), all areas consisting of intellectual property developed in the Kingdom of Poland, although not uniformly and with varying intensity. The conducted research allowed the author to assign particular fields of intellectual property law in the Kingdom of Poland to appropriate theoretical models appearing in European legislation.
